ABOUT OUR PROJECT
Fundación Proyecto Lingüístico Francisco Marroquín (P.L.F.M) was founded in 1969. It opened with two purposes, which are still its focus today:
A) To teach Spanish Language with native Spanish speakers from Guatemala
B) To teach, investigate and preserve the Mayan Languages spoken around Guatemala and the Culture.
The oldest Spanish language school founded in Antigua Guatemala is certificated and authorized by the Guatemalan Ministry of Education and licensed by INGUAT, the Guatemalan Tourist Institute. PLFM also teaches Mayan Languages and is run by native Mayan professionals.
The PLFM methodology is Total Immersion in which student and teachers work one on one, and students begin at their individual levels of competency. The aim of Total Immersion is enable students to speak Spanish from the first minute.
